eGold is powering the internet-scale blockchain
Elrond implements a completely new blockchain architecture, that is designed from scratch to be 1000x times more efficient than current implementations in terms of scalability and cost.
By employing Adaptive State Sharding technology and the Secure Proof of Stake consensus mechanism, the Elrond blockchain is currently capable of delivering 15 000 transactions per second with a 6 seconds latency and at a cost of $0.001 per transaction, and can scale to more than 100 000 transactions per second.
Their mobile application Maiar will be launched globally on the 31st of January and will enable anyone with a phone and an internet connection to onboard the cryptocurrency space by automatically generating a working wallet in a secure manner, based on the user’s phone number (similar to how WhatsApp uses numbers instead of nicknames).
